Code of Conduct

United Lacrosse: Parent Code of Conduct

Our mission is focused on teaching lacrosse in a safe, fun, fair and enriching environment such that young student athletes can learn the values of sportsmanship, camaraderie and competition.

As a parent, you play a special role in contributing to the success of our lacrosse program, by always being positive, reinforcing accomplishments and letting the coaches coach and the referee’s ref.

Always Be Positive

We require our coaches and players to demonstrate good sportsmanship; parents need to do the same. Applaud good plays by your child's team as well as good plays by the opposing team.

Reinforce Accomplishments

Many children are brand new to lacrosse; positive reinforcement is the best way to help your child achieve their goals. Encourage your child's efforts and point out their accomplishments; not their failures.

Don't Be A Sideline Coach Or Referee

If you’re interested in coaching or being a referee – please let us know. If not, then keep your sideline commentary positive. Verbal abuse toward coaches, referees, opposing players and/or opposing fans will not be tolerated. SCLA officials will monitor sideline behavior at every game, and have the authority to penalize our team with non-releasable penalties or game forfeitures and they have the authority to dismiss parents from the facilities.

If you have concerns regarding coaches and/or referees we recommend:

1. Wait 24 hours before you formalize your complaint

2. Reach out to the league president to formalize your complaint
